This series consists of pieces I’ve created in and around Los Angeles. I began painting them in 2005, plein air, from Elysian Park.

These paintings reach for the place beyond veil of daily life.  Many are painting using gouache, using a process-oriented approach.

The works in this series are all painted from direct observation of live models. They are painted in oil, using a wet-into-wet technique in one session.
